HELLO , THANKS ,I HAVE A V6 YAMAHA AND I NEED TO ID IT , IS THER A WAY TO FIND OUT THR HP AND YEAR BY LOOKING AT THR BLOCK. THE PLATE IS CCRAPED UP THANKS jD

not a good way<br /> you can get close though.<br />but we will need pics or a very accurate descripton of the ign system and fuel system as well as where the t-stats are located..<br /> also look at the 4 wire plug that has a blk,orange,gray and pink wires and tell us if its round or square.

my best guess is a 225 between 1991 and 93. the 89-90 models did not have the enricner pump and the cable operated hood latch places it close to those years.<br /> look on the yam parts web site for the engines in the 90-93 range and see when the enrichner pump was introduced then deleted on the 2.6L v6 motors. and the round connectors indicate its earlier than about 94

Rodbolt is right on. That is a 91-93 225.There were no real parts changes in those years to identify by other than the ones he noted.
