Don't know about out there. Out here, both are plentiful! Also, the damn dandelions! They are off the hook this year. I noticed it last year that they seemed to be in abundance. I was told that they will go in cycles of like 4-5 years. IDK. But I know last year they were way more plentiful than the previous couple of years.

We have lost billions of birds in the last 40 years or so.----Farm fields / crops have no flowers for insects.----Therefor no food for birds.---Feral cats are ruthless killers.--Far fewer birds at my feeders this spring as well.-----Weeds and their flowers are a perfect source of food for insects.---

I've been getting murdered by mosquitoes and other bugs. Plenty of birds chirping when I go to work in the morning. I stand by the truck for a few minutes before leaving just to take it all in. Quite soothing.

Ungodly amount of squirrels and chipmunks.

Right here at home the woodland birds are here in full force. Actually seeing an up tick with certain birds. Pilated woodpeckers are everywhere. Very healthy population of broadwing and red tail hawks. Quite a few nesting pairs of Bald Eagles around compared to years past. Tons of barred owls. I noticed the last couple falls the huge migration of Robins seemed to be absent, and bluebirds are scarce. Insects everywhere.

bug splats on the windshields have been down for decades, significantly worse in the past few years

insects are almost non-existent down here in Florida other than mosquitos. they are down as well. Bat populations are down too.

everyone is spraying insecticides..... which kill insects which then kill birds.

Havent seen any bees in a few years. when the pollinating insects die, we all die.

They swarm around here all winter, still have lots now but not like it wa when food was scarce

Have the usual red wing black birds, scarlet tanager, cow birds, rose breasted grosbeak that are passing thru on there way north.

I did hear by a good source that birds aren't real, they have all been replaced by russian robots. Try to keep it on the QT

Yeah well duck shootin started 3 days ago and anything bird with ½ a brain is flat out trying not to attract any attention to itself and all the burnt gunpowder hanging in the air has sorted insect life.
Nobody has got shot (yet .....it will happen )but somebody shot down the animal activists drone at Lake Ellesmere . They are upset ,called the police ,even admitted they were only trying to disrupt the shooting ..........sooooooo 😁 I mean you would have to wouldnt ya ? . An activists drone has gotta be worth 50 ducks, ooohh! I hope they used lead shot just to really #uck them off 😂😂. Ironically I can still hear the nieboughs 🐓, at 3am stupid bird

Pretty normal Spring here........wake up to a chorus of song birds every morning.

Had coffee with Mrs Dingbat on the porch this morning. Heard the Great Horned Owls nesting in the pines outback talking back and forth. Had a couple of turkeys strutting their stuff in the back field. Had several crows harassing the resident the Red Tail on the wood line. Watched Ma and Pa Cardinal come and go from their nest in the bush by the back door. Even had a couple of Canadians (geese) stop by the pond for a couple of minutes.

Had tons of bees around while the Azales where at peak bloom. Scaled back somewhat at this point, but activity will pick up in a couple of weeks once all the honeysuckle starts to bloom.

No shortage here either. Birds start singing at 4:15 or so and the neighbors dog sounds off shortly after that. Dam dog barks none stop at absolutely nothing all day long while it’s brother stands next to it quietly looking at him as if to say what the hell are you barking at.
Plenty of insects around and the bees are out in force as we are just about to hit pollen season. It’s been a delayed spring around here. The leaves just started coming out a few days ago. I’m loving this 60’s and 70’s weather. It’s just perfect. 😍

Plenty of birds and bugs around here. The last time I cut the grass, mocking birds and blue jays were following me around, catching the bugs disturbed by the riding mower blasting by.

We had a bird visit one of our security cams a few days back.

For the last month a Blue bird picks on our bedroom door starting around 5:30AM. The bird house is close by and there is a nest but have not seen eggs or the female. I'm thinking the female was killed somehow.

We usually get to 2 sets of Blues every year
