As previously stated in this post http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=222131 I am having problems with my 'No Oil' horn sounding when I get up to 5200 RPMs.
In lieu of being laid up with 'Feet Dry' tomorrow, I need to get out on the water for a little Striper fishing tomorrow since they are very active, and I fear tomorrow will be the last day I will be able to go for quite some time.
My question is this. I plan on taking the boat into the local Evinrude repair shop on Monday to have the problems described in the previous post fixed. Would I be ok to mix the 50:1 in my 41 gallon fuel tank, and disconnect the lead to the Oil Reservoir? If the oil reservoir is not the lead I need to disconnect then which one would it be to turn off the 'No Oil' tone? Also, is this safe to do as long as I have the premix 50:1 in my fuel tank?
I assume that as long as the 'Overheat' warning horn is working, which I will verify before leaving the house, that I will be ok to disconnect the 'No Oil' horn so that I can get some fishing in. Or, would I be better of to play it safe, and lay up tomorrow with an Oat Soda in the shade on dry land?
Someone please give me your opinion.
