No parts available for old Tohatsu - But carb needs cleaning - Please Help!

I have an old Tohatsu Outboard 25 horsepower model m 25A2. It's running really rough at idle speed and I want to clean the carburetor. The problem is there are no rebuild kits available for an engine this old. Any recommendations as to gaskets or gasket materials, o rings Etc? What does one do when an engine is so old that Parts on available but she runs really well on the lake. Just idles rough. I would also like to change the Impala but have run into the same problem. No parts available. If anyone has any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for your time. Mike G.

Mike, if you're careful, it would not be real hard to believe you were able to disassemble and clean that carb without using any parts.

You might get luck at an olde tyme napa. The place with the parts man with grey hair. Otherwise, for a motor 40 plus years old, it is the end of the line.

If rubber parts such as middle carb o'ring, needle valve, fuel pump diaphragm are not shot, hardened, degraded, just clean well all internal jets, main nozzle for carb to work OK.
