Hey everybody I have search high and low to try and figure out why I have no power to my coil any help would be great . I have a 86 sunbird with a brand new 4.3 Merc cobra out drive . Last year I found a crack in my block so I had another engine built. Installed new engine hooked everything back up . Now I have no power to my coil. I've tried new ignition still same problem . I tried to bypass it with a hot wire to the + side of the coil and the engine will turn over but no spark. on a side note the engine will turn over with the key in the off position. I have checked every wire everything seems to be connected correctly . I have been trying to figure it out for a month now and it's getting frustrating. I have power to the amplifier just not power to the coil or distributor. I have pics below of the coil and amp any help would be great

Do you still have the points distributor? If so, did you service the points?

How do you check the power on the coil ?
+ on the coil and - on the engine ?

How does the engine turn without key ?
