No Power Trim

I have a 1985 50hp Merc OB on a 13’ Boston Whaler. It does not have power trim. But it does have a pin that can be used to adjust the trim by placing the pin in one of 6 sets of holes. Currently, the pin is in the set of holes farthest from the transom. That would make it in the trim UP position. As in, the bow is UP, don’t try to get up on plane like that. Right?
