no pressure in fuel line fuel pump bulb

have a 1115, and 9.9 both yammies on my lund fisherman. neither bulb seems to pump fuel, no matter how long i pump it! one is new , the other about 4 yrs. the arrow on both are pointing the correct way, towards the motors.any thoughts? thanx bill

Are they both drawing from the same fitting on the tank? I'd suspect a rusted antisyhon valve. Do you have Quality primer bulbs? Most aftermarket ones (Tempo, Attwood, etc.) are crap. Even the good ones only pump well when there's gas in it. The fluid helps move the valves. You can get around that. Simply point the arrow Up when pumping and gravity will help those valves move until it fills with gas.<br /><br />Oh, and take those screw-type hose clamps off and replace them with plastic zip ties. Those metal clamps won't conform to the plastic fittings. They'll make the plastic fittings conform to the clamp. The check valves are in there and warping the fitting can lock those check valves tight.
