manual start model with magneto ignition. I got the flywheel off and everything looked brand new. took the points off and grinded the contacts clean, only got weak spark on the top cylinder. It jumps 1/8 inch gap and the bottom cylinder has no spark. everything is grounded and the kill switch is disconnected

i want to replace the plug wires but they are permanently attached to the coils, after that i don't know where to look.

Re: No spark on 1978 10hp Chrysler

I asked almost the same question a few days ago and got the same response.
My engine did the same exact thing I just kept messing with it and finally got fire ( still weak ) what I did is switched points and condenser from one side to the other reset them and what do know it started for a few seconds. Now I need a fuel pump repair kit, and put new points and condenser in it. Give it a try what do you got to lose? Good luck

Be certain that both sets of points are accurately set to .020 open. If no spark after vthat, then try replacing the condenser on the no spark set. Remember that both sets of points are acuated by a single cam. You must turn the crank 180 degrees (1/2 turn) to set the other points after you set the first ones.
