Does the prop **** with force, or is it just coasting along?

I'm inclined to think it's in gear.

Trim that sucker up and check the position of the shift 'foot'.

The shift cable is in two parts. One goes from the lever to an assembly, the other from the assembly to the leg.

The second one of these is called the lower cable. You can remove it and shift the drive manually while the engine is running. It should be easy to get into gear, hard to get out of gear (Stop the engine before pulling too hard).

That will tell you if your cable is intact then go from there.

It's kinda hard to explain if you don't know. If you've ever pulled the drive you'll know right away. The foot is a 1.5"x.5' oval kinda shaped piece which slides into a shoe (Foot, shoe haha). The shoe rotates and takes the foot with it to change gears from forward to neutral to reverse.

I'd try to remove the lower cable like in my last post.

Dowbnload the manuals from the adults only section...all this will be explained in there.
