I think you will fire up if you can get fuel to the carb

Remove the line from the fuel line from the carb and find a plastic bottle or other to place the end of the line in it.

Crank the motor and see if fuel pumps into the container

Which fuel pump do you have, the pump bowl facing up or down

Your motor can have one of 2 pumps, bowl facing up or down.

Has the pump been replaced?

alldodge Thanks. I have the second pump in the picture You sent, the one pointing down. It doesn’t look like it has been replaced recently (see pic). Which hose should I unplug from the carb?
#1 is a black metal hose and #2 is a yellow plastic/rubber hose. I attached a couple of pictures (apologies for the rough edits).
I also poured some gas in the carb as suggested earlier but was unable to get it to start. When I later pulled the #1 plug I was able to smell gas on it.

Also, here is a link to the spark from the plug. It sparks a couple of times in the video. Is that what the spark should look like? I want to make sure it isn’t too weak to ignite the gas

Unable to see the spark but it should be white or blue

Right now we need to trace the fuel issue. If you dump to much fuel in it won't start because it needs fumes, not liquid.

The plastic tube is used only if the fuel pump leaks internally. No issue right now
You need to remove the metal line going into the carb to see if you can get fuel to show up, being pumped out

If fuel does not pump out, need to remove the line going into the pump from the tank. Then place a longer piece of gass line on the pump and use a gas can. Stick the end of the gas line into the can and then try cranking agin to see if fuel can be sucked up.

If no gas shows up from the gas can out the pump, then you need a fuel pump.

Can take about a tablespoon of gas and put into carb to see if it starts

Ok, thanks. I removed the metal line. No gas is coming out of the line when I try to crank or when I pump the throttle.
I don’t have any gas line. I will try to pick some up tomorrow.
Thanks again everyone for the help and advice! I am encouraged that I am now seeing spark. Feels like a little progress👍

Update:
A Huge thank you to all of you for your help. I have learned a lot more about ignition systems than I ever thought I would. I spoke to a mechanic friend who wanted to take a look at the issue. Since it is raining here all week and I am spending time back at work, I took the boat to his place yesterday. I will update here if/when he finds the issue.
I am sure I will be back many times to this forum as I learn more about working on the boat and learning how to maintain and get the boat ready for the water.
Thanks again, everyone!
