Does anyone know where I can get the nylon bushings that connects the parts of the shift linkage assembly? I have a 1975 115hp v4 Evinrude. As the shift and throttle controls connect to the engine, there is the black trunion, then the clip which holds them in. The clip that holds the throttle cable is gone and the "repair shop" I took the motor to used a nyon tie down rather than replace the clip. And, from the shift lever, there are two horizontal bars held together by a bell crank screw and a wave washer. Is there a place I can get just the bushings, or do I have to buy an entire shift/throttle linkage set-up? Hope everyone had a good Christmas and has a great New Year.
billyt

Billy....the part your looking for that clamps the shift and control cable to the anchor block is called a "clamp" PN 321383 and the screw that holds it in place is PN 306487. Any John/Rude dealer should be able to get it for you.

Not real sure about the second item your looking for. Is this at the control box where the shift and throttle cable come out or something entirely different?

Re: nylon bushings for throttle linkage

Hi OBJ--I'm still working away on this motor. Thanks for the part numbers. The bushings I'm speaking of are about a quarter of the way back onto the block where the cables actually connect to the shift lever and throttle levers. The shift lever points downward where it connects to the cable. There should be a bushing there (or at least that was what I was told). There is a fair amount of play which leads me to believe something should be there. Where those two connect, everything makes a "right turn" onto a horizontal bar which has 2 pieces connected by the bell crank screw. That piece is what connects onto the vertical shift rod, and I think there should be a bushing there also. I think these bushings not being in place is why I keep having to go in and adjust everything after using the motor for 2 or 3 days. Everything is either on the side of the motor, or underneath. I can draw it, but it's hard to describe. Sorry.

Hey Billy....I think I know what ya' need. Looking at the parts break down, there is a shoulder screw that connects the shift cable to the shift lever. What the problem is, they don't give a part number for the shoulder screw. The parts breakdown lists' it as a shift lever and stud assembly and I can't remeber right off the top of my head if that "stud" screws out or not....probably does. Maybe one of the other guys can help cause I havn't run into this before.

Re: nylon bushings for throttle linkage

OBJ: I have a '75 Evinrude service manual. On page 6-6 (which is actually a gearcase illustration), it shows the shift lever assembly. The bell crank screw and shift rod connector are highlighted. It appears to be attached with a locknut, but I can't tell if there is anything between them or not. Unfortunately, it doesn't show the cables in place, but the play is actually on the shift lever and it "jiggles" in toward the motor and back out rather than from front to back. In that illustration, you can see there are nylon connectors on the throttle link and the choke link. If there isn't supposed to be some type of bushing there, how do I eliminate the play?
blt

I accidentally loosen that shift arm and the white nylon bushings came out. Is there any hope of ever getting that back in?
