OEM Manual- Electronic copy?

Hey guys,

I have an Evinrude 4V 1986, Model: E140TXCDC, Serial: G1136668

I recently posted about removing the powerhead to access upper mounts..

Long story short, I picked up a Seloc manual for the year of my engine and frankly..in my opinion...its HORRIBLE

I was reading a few posts and came across a discussion about an Adult Section here that might have a downloadable version of the OEM manual I need for free?.

Can someone be so kind as to tell me where that is on here OR if you may have the copy of the manual in electronic form and wouldn't mind sharing it??

I already spent 35 bucks on the one I have and don't want to spend more for the wrong one again...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks
Rich

Rich. Too bad about the manual you bought. Most on this forum have little to no use for anything but an original OMC service manual and for good reason. I know you feel the same way now. OMC manuals are copyrighted material and therefor you have to buy the paper original. Don't go the way of the Ebay CD's as they have proved to be useless IMO. Best of luck. Rick.

The above is close, but not the exact year. I had an '85 140HP, and I know the '86 had significant differences from '85. I would email SeaRayman13 to see if he has one for your model year.

The other choice is outboardbooks.com, which can always provide a book for the correct year, but probably more $'s.

To my knowledge, the OEM manuals have never been produced in legit electronic format. The stuff I've seen in electronic format is Clymer or Seloc typically and you already know about that stuff.

As you have found out, there is absolutely no substitute for a genuine manual, spend the money and buy one, then sell your old one for what you can get to cover some of the cost.

No it's Clymer ... even worse, even if it's free. Junk is junk!

Re: OEM Manual- Electronic copy?

Thanks for the input. I did read it and found that it was a clymer.. however, it did show me in more detail than the other POS manual..

My only issue or problem is that with all of the crap out there I really want the right manual. My hope was that another fellow boater with the exact motor may have a title or ISBN # so I am positive I get the right one..

I thank all of you who posted..please keep posting! I am learning alot

Thanks!
