Some will say yes....others no. Toss up. I try to use OEM parts when ever possible.

Difference for me between Sierra and OEM powerpack was a little over $100. Went with Sierra...no issues so far (granted it has only been a couple months).

On my 89-150,I found the price on the internet(somewhere,I dont remember)and the local Johnson dealer was $15 cheaper....I thought this was really strange.I got a Sierra waterpump kit last week,it honestly looked better than OEM,it didnt have burrs on wear plates.

Re: OEM parts or Sierra

I just bought a sierra water pump kit here on iboats and I wasn't exactly happy with it. For starters the contents of the package was not exactly what was listed on Sierras website. They did not give me washers for my bolts and they only gave me one oring instead of 2. And they didn't include an installation diagram. Not exactly top notch service in my book. I plan on attempting an install on it tomorrow but I'm not 100% confident that it's gonna work out. Next time I'm gonna get the OEM just to be safe.
