Oh God somebody help me Pleeeez

I have a 99 Yamaha 4 syroke 25 hp that is givving me a fit.

Heres what happened and what I have done.

I took it to the mechanic becaude of no spark, he said stator,,6 months later and 400 bucks he starts it for me and runs it for a second becuase it had no water on it and I took it home.
2 weeks later I sell the boat and keep the motor to sell to someone else and it wont start????

It has spark although not super fat and juicy but it is there,,new plugs too.
It has gas, I even have hit it with starting fluid....Nothing

The Kill switch is in order,oil pressure switch is in order, oil level is in order.
Could it be the compression releases if it has one or could it be a flakey coil that was taxed from a bad stator and then gave up the ghost when the new stator was installed?

I am at my wits end with this darn thing and dont know where to turn.

From my years of tooting with motors I would think that starting fluid and even the smallest of spark should have got me at least a cough and a fart out of the thing,,Zero, Zip, Nada.

Any professional help would be soooooooo appreciated.

your going to have to inspect for proper coil primary voltage, then insprect for proper compression, then look at the fuel system.
these beasts are not difficult but a DVA meter is mandatory to check the various outputs.

have not checked the coil values yet but the compression Cold/closed throttle is around 115 or 120.
I would think with that much compression and even a marginal spark that the starting fluid would have lit.
The timing is not off either because the motor ran when I picked it up from the shop and it has a new cam belt.
