so theoriectically wouldnt the engine keep running? i thought it was sorry.

i know it was the serpetine belt. but does this belt run the oil pump too?????? that would be disatorous if the engine kept running with no oil or cooling water.

something i would like to work on is this old guy's 1960 somrhing ford galaxy. v8:D hasnt ran in a while. could be my first car?

Belt has nothing to do with oil pump (fortunately) but does turn the water pump. DON'T run engine with belt off or the Buick will become just like the Galaxy.:D

That Ford Galaxy would make a great first car.;)

Re: oh what a night

yeah thank god cause i did and yes i dont want to run the engine without the belt.

its a 2door and of course V8! my favorite but downside as you may all know...GAS!!! lol it isnt so bad looking and it been under the car port with a cover on it for many years.

he said that he just turned it off and left it? kinda strange. had an oil leak. said possibly could be the drain plug but that was it.

sometimes that is the only way to get a tire to bead.....very old tire trick...I have done it plenty of times last resort after straps won't work

Thats how I used to bead my tractor trailer tires. You just have to make sure you let the air out afterwards and then refill so you don't wind up with a blowout from the unburnt starting fluid (ether).
I found that out the hard way real fast!
