oil filter problems !!!

Hi Guys,

I have a 1998 4.3 l vortec volvo penta which had a cracked block so i got a block form an 02 chevy blazer everything on the the block is the same except the oil filter hook up. There are oil lines from the block to where the oil filter is and when i remove the connection from the block i noticed there is no threaded bolt for the oil filter to screwed into. Can any advise me if i can purchase this connection that screws into the block and what it is called and also if i can take out the one from the old block and how to go about doing that?

Why don't you just screw in the remote oil filter assembly that was on the original engine?

Am I missing something here?

iI suppose i could but will have to mount the oil filter with the flex hose somewhere on the motor but i will also have to blank out the other side that normally goes to the radiator.
