A lot of 1998, 1999 and some 2000 powerheads were replaced complete 2001 powerheads. I'm sure there were a few unscrupulous service departments that kept the old powerheads that hadn't yet failed and would resell them as cheap replacements and therefore could end up on a newer midsection.
