Oil Injection - Disconnect or Not

My brand new boat has been put away for the season. It is a 2003 90hp classic.

I hope to keep this motor for the long run (30 years?) and was wondering about the oil injection. I've got 6 months left on warranty.

Should I have the oil injection disconnected?

Is there some way (besides religiously looking at the oil reservoir which I do) to know that failure is imminent or performance of the oil injection is sub-par?

I use this boat every weekend and for a period of 4 weeks, every day for fishing.

I have always pre-mixed with 6 gallon cans. Now I have a built in 20 gallon tank. I really like not pre-mixing.

Opinions?

Re: Oil Injection - Disconnect or Not

I would keep it, as Merc oil injection is very reliable, especially the later models. I wouldn't worry about it! :)
