2001 Yamaha 130TXRZ, can anyone tell me how to test the oil injection module / 6E5-85740-02-00 CONTROL UNIT KIT
[6E5-WS857-00-00] ?

Engine float checks out at all positions, onboard boat tank float and wire harness are new, continuity check done all the way to the plug right before the oil injection module.

Problem: oil buzzer goes off at first key position and stays on, turns off if onboard boat float is put at bottom/empty position. This has been intermitant problem.

I do NOT have the Yamaha tach with the oil indicator lights.

Driving me nuts...

Re: Oil Injection Module

without the visual indicate there is no telling oil from overheat.
both use the same tone.
the float in the remote tank simply tells the control module if there is enough oil remaining for automatic transfer.
the float in the engine tank is a 3 position switch, float all the way, pump off, float at mid point pump on, float all the way down is RPM reduction and audible alarm.
under the hood, on the 4 wire trim harness, gray is for overheat visual. then there is a 2 wire connector with a green and green red, green is for remote oil level ok and green/red is for low engine tank level.

There are usually quite a few Yamaha multifunction tachometers on the auction web site that begins with "E". Yamaha makes a non-multifunction tachometer that looks almost identical to the one you need. It is a cheap investment for your motor.
