Last week, I posted and got a couple replies to
my first post. I was having a problem restarting
my '02 25hp Big Foot motor, after it stalled, and alarm went off. Since the motor is under warranty, purchased Aug. '03, you are right to assume, that I do not plan to tamper with it at all.
But, I did manage to check and change the spark
plugs.
With the new plugs, I was able to get the motor started, but only by raising the maximum fast idle lever as high (fast)as it would go. The motor ran smoothly with the lever raised, or if I cut back on the idle lever slightly.
But, each time I started the motor, when I brought
the max idle lever down to the normal idle position, it died with a single short chirp
or beep.
I checked the dipstick, and the oil level is at or near the full mark, even though the motor has consumed 2-3 6 gal tanks of gas. Also, the plugs I removed were in pretty bad shape (blackened electrode) for only 5-10 hours of running time.
I intend to borrow my dealer's trailer - we are
talking now! - and take it to another dealer for
the authorized warranty service. My dealer does not do his own repair.
Just want to know if it sounds like I am on the right track in explaining what might be wrong.
Thanks for Feedback, please.
