Oil Injection Problem?

Ok guys I'm stumped on this one. I was out on the water, all the sudden my engine slowly loses power then cuts off. Ran it again for two more minutes on a plane and did it again so I let it sit for an hour and just to be safe I mixed oil in the gas, I put some oil right in the fuel water separator so it would get there faster I was hoping. After doing that it ran perfect. Never missed and didn't shut down for 2 hours. I got home and changed the impeller and impeller assembly just in case it had anything to do with it. It needed to be changed for sure it was pretty bent up. This is on my 2000 90hp 2 stroke Johnson 4 cyl. Now I never got any alarms when It cut off both times. Is the sending unit bad maybe for the oil alarm which is why its not letting me know and the oil isnt mixing from the reservoir? Thanks everyone

Does your warning horn work? Is it tested during the motor's annual (or 100 hour) servicing? Perhaps it's a different problem and that is why the warning is not coming on.

The service manual outlines the testing procedures or if you have trained techs performing your maintenance, the warning system should always be tested for correct operation.

You would'nt believe the number of times I've seen overheated & siezed up motors and finding the warning horn in the control box a mass of corrosion and rust.

Find a tan wire going to one of the temp senders on a cylinder head and seperate the connection, ground out the wire coming from the harness to the block. Start the mtr up and you should get a horn if it's working. With system check the mtr has to be running for the horn to sound. If not running only the hot lite goes on.

The horn and everything works I've tested all that and everything. Still runs smooth and hasn't shut down like it did before
