Oil level

Maid a mistake while changing the oil in my 350 c.I. Mercruiser. I now have oil level about one half inch above the full mark on the dip stick. Does this have to come out before starting the motor ?If I can run it to warm the oil up I will bring the level down.

Yes you can fire it up without issue at idle or high idle

It may drop down to where it needs to be once your oil filter fills up.
