Hello, So i posted about this earlier and i got to think i labeled it my eng. instead of what i was talking about. How can i switch my eng from oil mix to oil inject so i dont have to mix it with gas all the time i hate it i can not say that enough!!!!!! I know some people say dont do it but please let me decide that for my self and just help me find the info on how to do it.

Thank You

Brien

There is no 'aftermarket' oil injection system. The system that was available with your engine was known as 'AutoBlend', or 'Mechanics' friend'.

They have a terrible reputation for destroying engine's (hence Mechanics' friend, it gaves mechanics lots of work).

About the only way you are going to change to an oil injection system is to sell that engine and buy one with injection on it. (Avoid white engines. Their VRO is even worst than the AutoBlend)

I understand you're dislike of mixing, but as long as you put it in, you know the engine is getting oil, and that's a good thing.

Thank God, no....

You might find one on eBay... But trust me, you do not want one on your engine.... unless you want to kill it. They are REALLY bad news....

What Chris is telling you is that the oil injection that came on your engine is famous for failing, ruining the engine. Later engines have a much more reliable system, and that one is good. The main reason your engine is still alive is that the oil injection has been removed.

There was an aftermarket electronic (electric motor driven) system for the mercury V6 by Marine Solutions in Wisconsin, but I think they are gone now. As I remember, they used the original pump reservoirs, and alarm system, adding a controller and probably a stepper motor to drive the pump.

Here is the infamous Autoblend. It's on a shelf in my garage. Thats why my old 89 35hp is still running great. Sometime before I die I'm going to take it out back and bury it so no one will be tempted to hook it up again. I mix when I pump. Takes an extra minute.
