Oil on outside of spark plugs

I removed the spark plugs from my 1972 Johnson 65hp (65ESL72S) outboard last night to see how they fared after mondays outing and noticed a bit of oil on the outside of the plugs. Maybe a drop or two of oil on the top plug, about 4 drops on the middle plug, and dripping off the bottom plug. The plugs seemed to be the correct tightness, about 1/8th of a turn past finger tight.

Just wondering if anyone has had this experience or can shed some light on this for me!

Are the washers/gaskets on the plugs new and fresh?...maybe oil leaked out past them?:)

Re: Oil on outside of spark plugs

They don't look overly compressed and the plugs seemed to be tightened properly. I somehow knew that'd be the first question...it was the only thing I could think of too!
