hi all please tell me what you all think. ok 1989 force 50 compression on #1 is 125 #2 is at 115 +- when the engine is hot now i cleaned the carb used coil on #1 cyl do to plug boot was shorting out. i have fuel at 50 to 1 / and new plugs. now i start the engine get it hot and then remove the plugs and #1 cyl has oil one it not drenched but oil on the tip now i remove #2 and nice and clean no oil and looks brand new so i put spark tester on #1 and #2 and its got great spark. so befor all this the last time i had boar out it was falling on its face at wot. so my question is what is going on with the oil on #1 plug.

So to understand correctly, #2 looks as if it has no fuel getting to it? or it is being burned off leaving the plug clean? If it is being burned leaving it clean then that cylinder is running lean in my opinion. If there is no fuel being delivered to this cylinder, then check the carb settings and reeds, 1 1/16 out from lightly seated on the carb. I have melted the top piston on this motor from a lean running carb, but it toasted the top cylinder not the bottom.
Honestly, it sounds like spark, but I know you said you have good spark? This motor will push a boat on one cylinder at WOT but run like crap.

i looked at the reeds and thay look good thay are closed i did run it in water in my yard today after all the work and it seems to be running ok i put it in gear and got it to 4500 or so witch is where it was braking up befor but all the water came out so i could not run it there for long. and yes the needle is at 1 1/6 +- . what do you all think of the compression of the engine.

You need to check compression when it is cold. I can and have done comp tests before and after running my 73 55hp, and got wildly different results before and after. It runs awesome, has 135 on #1 and 130 on #2 cold. Before new rings and a hone job it was running pretty good at 105 on #1 and 128 on #2 go figure? These are tough little engines.
