Oil Pan (Sump) Bolt Torque Spec Needed

Unless I'm blind or simply can't read, i'm not finding the torque spec for the bolts to the oil pan (sump) for the VP 5.0 GXI-E (305). I've found online Merc people are using anywhere from 8-10 ft/lbs and several places online for the auto people say ~8 ft/lbs if pan has 14 bolts (which it does). I know on my 3/4 truck the bolts are torqued to 9 ft/lbs so my assumption is if i use 9 i shoud be good to go. But, being marine, like my darn diesel truck, there's always exceptions for these most times I seriously don't want to have to pull this engine again for a bonehead torque setting i screwed up.

Is there a correct torque spec for these bolts, or can i (like the info-mercial), set it and forget it at 9 ft/lb?

To clarify, i did find the 4 studs are 53 in/lb. Just not the other 14 bolts. no mention they should be the same torque though.

ignore me. i simply can't read. 4 pan studs @ 53 in/lb", 4 pan stud nuts @ 18ft/lb, all other bolts 106 in/lb (or ~9 ft/lb).

i seriously have been going through the manual for a while and i don't know why that darn chart on page 156 wasn't visible Prolly cause i was looking for Oil Sump and not Oil Pan.

seriously, the pan should be 12 ft-lb on an SBC oil pan. nothing special about marine or not, it is still a GM SBC

Like a valve cover you get it nice and snug but not so tight that it distorts the pan rails or gasket. Every few years when I have all the seats out etc I check the bolts on the pan, timing cover, bolt that holds on the dipstick tube, starter bolts and exhaust bolts.

Seriously...as a SeaBee (electrician), i had a UT (plumber) teach me the 'proper' way to glue PVC fittings when we were deployed to Iraq. Apply primer, count to 10 Mississippi's (i thought it was because I live in Mississippi). Apply glue, press together with a slight twist. Then, smoke one cig to allow to dry and set. Not advocating smoking, but i swear the first two i did i didn't wait the mandatory smoke break and as soon as pressure was applied the joints came apart. To this day, i still wait the 'mandatory smoke' break before applying liquid pressure
