Oil Pressure was fine now zilch

Hi all, its been awhile since I've posted. Maybe someone can help.

I have a 2006 Mag 350 Serial 0W361889. I had a slight oil leak and had the engine serviced by the dealer. He said a sender near the front of the crank was leaking. He said he replaced a gasket. Didn't say he replaced the sender.

I went down to change the oil today and after about 10 minutes of running the engine noticed the oil pressure gauge was sub 0, like power was not applied to the gauge. I always had good oil pressure so I can't help but think a wire is disconnected or possibly the sender is bad. Especially since I ran the engine for about 10 minutes before I noticed 0 oil pressure and everything sounded fine. I found a sender near the front of the engine right next to the crank shaft, the wire was attached. Are there any other places I can look for a disconnected wire or do you think the sender is bad. I seriously doubt that the oil pressure is nonexistent after the minor repair the dealer did. What do you think?

Maybe check the connections on the gauge. I would think the gauge is bad before the sender

That sender gasket he replaces was the crankshaft position sensor. has nothing to do with oil pressure.
Being as you have an MPI engine, you have an alarm switch and oil pressure sender feeding info to your ECM. So it obviously seen you had oil pressure or you would have had alarms and the engine would have gone to idle, or near idle. The good news, you have a gauge, wiring or sender problem for the gauge, not an oil pressure problem.

Thanks guys,

Just got done doing some grilling and eat'n. Gotta love it!

I should have mentioned that there were no alarms. That's part of the reason I felt the oil pressure was ok. I'll do a quick check of the wiring and gauge. It's under warranty but I like to tinker. If it's simple, like a loose wire, I'll fix it. Otherwise, I'll take advantage of the warranty coverage. Thank you very much. The collective wisdom here, rarely fails!

Follow up: I checked the wiring and connections, all looked good. I tapped on the guage and it popped up to about a 60 psi reading. I shut the engine down and started it again. The guage read 0 psi. I tapped it again and it shot up to 60psi. Stcky guage. Thanks all for your replies!

For future reference, the sender on the older 350's is ~2" to the right of the distributor shaft, looking from front of engine.
