I have a 1990 OMC 4.3l chevy motor.
I had an oil leak at the front of the motor where the timing chain cover and oil pan meet. I took off the timing chain cover and discovered that the timing chain had about 5/8" slack in it. I changed the timing chain and gears. I removed the oil pan and oil pump. I am going to replace the oil pump while I'm at it. They make a high volume oil pump. Is it a good idea to replace it with the high volume? Does it come originally with the high volume for a marine application?
Thanks for any info
