I HAVE A 1985 DT85 SUZUKI AND HAVE REBUILT IT BUT CANT REMEBER IF THE OIL SEAL AT THE BOTTOM OF THE POWER HEAD GOES INSIDE THE ENGINE OR NEXT TOO IN THE SAME GROOVE THAT THE WASHER THAT FITS OVER THE END OF THE POWER HEAD AND GIUDES THE SHAFT INTO THE ENGINE AS THAT WASHER NOW MAKES A LOUD BANGING SOUND IF YOU HAVE THAT PAGE FROM THE MANUAL PLS EMAIL IT TOO ME @ OZ181@HOTMAIL.COM OR POST ANSWER ON THE POST THANKS PS DOSE ANYONE KNOW THE SERIAL NUMBER FOR THE BEARING THAT REPLACES THE OLD ONE APPAERNTLY THERE IS NO NEED FOR LAD SEAL NEED NUMBER AND MAKE OF BEARING PLS

dude<br /> you really really need to purchase a service manual. I normally dont reply to post that the info is readily obtainable in the manual. <br /> looking in manual #99500-95516-01E it shows the large oil seal goes in the block and the smaller drive shaft seal going in the oil seal housing. the flange on the crank shaft seal goes towards the bottom and fits in a groove in the block.the illustration on page 67 shows the smaller seal with the garter spring facing up. all of the seals and seal holders MUST be properly positioned in the block BEFORE installing the crankcase cover. if not then you must remove the cover and clean then properly reassemble the motor. now would be a good time to get a manual and study it while eating your weaties in the morning to see if the rest of the rebuild is ok.<br /> good luck and keep posting.
