Oily scum

Just bought my first ever 2 stroke outboard.<br />It's 2 years old (Suzuki 4HP) and immaculate.<br />Decided to follow the advice on this board and ran the engine in a bucket of water.<br />Here comes the newbie (doh) question.<br />For some reason I expected the water to be clear after running the engine but there was an oily scum on it's surface. Is this normal and to be expected whenever I do this?

and exactly where do ya think all the waste oil goes <br /> its normal.<br /> 2 stokes are not super efficient to start with and running cold in a barrel even more so. <br /> unless you barrel is big enough to allow it to run at least half throttle under a load for 15 min or so.
