1995 4.3LX, 4 barrel carb. To drain it I have 2 block drains, 2 exhaust elbow drains, remove the water pump hose and drain it and remove the power steering cooler hose aft of the cooler and let it drain. Put it all back together and I know to poke the drain holes to free up any rust particles blocking the passages. Do I really need to fog the carb first? Gen II will remain on the boat for winter, down and I'll drain a little outdrive fluid to check for water before it gets too cold. I am going to do the impeller and fluid in the Spring so that stuff will wait. Am I OK? I have read the manual and many posts. Just don't want to be a Spring downer with a damaged engine or outdrive.
Thanks,
