Look what followed me home today. Not sure of year or model all I know is it's a tin I/O 110merc drive ser#2022940. I really just want show it off. Other than the crappy paint job i think it is all original oil and all. It has no numbers on it anywhere unless they hid them in the old days.

This hast to be one of the coolest dashes i have ever seen.

That thing in the lower left hand corner is whats left of a full canvas top. Pretty well trashed but should be good enough to use as a pattern.

maybe a NOVA, but it looks deeper than one, nice catch. Maybe a 64 Holiday, the brochure shows the 2 piece windshield and similar dash panel?

Looks like a late 60's Holiday to me...?
I was thinking some thing like that. The last year for the 110merc I/O was 66 as far as i can tell.

I had a bit of fun on the way home.

Port side tire gave up about ten miles from home.
The other people on the road look at you funny wen you are doing 35mph or so with a flat tire.

I say Holiday, circa 1967. Do you still own the other two? I ever find a 15' American for the right price It'll probably follow me home.

Congratulations on your find. Winter boat buying is an adventure to say the least.

I still have the ss. I had an offer on the american i could not turn down.
If you ever end up down this way I know of a fellow with two americans not sure of the length and they both had dodge outboards on them. I would be happy to check them out if you want me to.

Nice score 86!:D Glad to see you made it home safe, barely

Yup, she kinda looks like an old Holiday to me.

I love those old gauge clusters, super cool!

What are your plans for the rig?

Congrats man, cheers!

I really need to finish my current project first. Like Jasoutside I do have a wandering eye. Got one eye on my current project and one eye on a potential second.

Don't go to any trouble but find out if they are 15' or not.

Thanks for feeding my MBS!

Boy talk about deja'vu, that cockpit looks just like mine with out the Mercruser gauges, the seats look like they have the same trim piping and shape. I wonder if the seat framing is rectangular tubing. That is a old Holsclaw trailer.

Due to the deductive powers of this newish Holiday owner :D I say it's a 65 or 66 leaning more towards a 1966 :)

Those blue interior side panels make it a 1966. Have you fired that 110 up yet? And someone has re-painted the hull.

The classic Merc gauges on those mid-60s rigs are sweet.

Nice score, good luck with her!

Not sure about the model of the boat, for I haven't seen any earlier than the 70's. That sure looks to be a Holsclaw trailer though, with the double coil springs under it. I have the same thing on my 73, 18' SS.

Lastdollar The supports under the seats are round tubing. Yes that is an old holsclaw it's a bit to short and looking for a new home.

North Beach I have not had time to do much with it yet. The compression numbers were low(75-80) so i filled the cly with wd40 to maybe free up the rings. Yes it has had crappy spray bomb job. They painted around the bunks and bow stop.

Thanks cheepboat and huron

I have found two SS'S in my recent travels one is just seating in a back yard full of crap and the other is at a storage yard on the ground in Warsaw IN on 350 north just east of the railroad tracks.

I just noticed this today the tilt switch has a key switch on it. Any one ever seen one like this.
1228001601.jpg

I had a pleasant suprise to day i had to clean the connections on a few thing but other than that it all works. That does not normally happen with a 44y/o anything.

It's alive!!!!!!!! She runs the drive shifts and doesn't make any bad noises. I think she needs a lower shift cable but what old mercruiser doesn't.

I think it only has tilt not tilt and trim if that is possible my manuals don't go back this far.

methinks the man who not only works on his boat outside in Indiana in Jan but actually starts and re-winterizes it should be promoted by iboats to at least a lieutenant....... or was that a masochist first class?

congrats!!
