That would be a 9.5 HP model ( 9322 ).---If spark jumps a gap of 1/4" or more it is good.----If not pull the flywheel.--Install new impeller.----Change gear oil.----If it was stored with an empty carburetor the fire it up.-----Visit ----leroysramblings-----For all the information you would need.

change impelller
change gear oil look for water ... if water may need a GTC reseal
test for strong spark 73 coils may be still good
points may or likely need clean or replacement as well as condensers

a good carb clean up won't hurt but it may function without one depending how it was stored...
Johnson (leeroysramblings.com)

they are a bit finicky... but very good kicker
the lower housing has a big rubber seal to keep exhaust away from the powerhead... if it is bad the carb may sniff to much fumes and the engine will be erratic or die . I purchased one a few years a go that had a 2'' hood lobotomy above the carb.... I never figured how the owner kept rain or water out.. maybe he fished on sunny days only :)

Leroys is a good read

Once I get the stand built I'll pull the spark plugs and see condition. There are a lot of videos on the 9.5 , but each is different situation. .

expect compression from the mid 60'S to mid 70s higher would be better but work fine at 65-70 psi

I've seen some shoot wd40 in the cylinders to make sure there unstuck. I would think sea foam deep creep would work the same?

I'm also looking for a manual I can download..

I put it back in the boat. Best I can tell the bottom cylinder sparks but the top didnt best I could tell. Choke, rich/lean and i believe stop works. Gears work fine...

actually there is an excellent utube in 2 parts on the 9.5 carbs... the rest is electricals (coils condensers points timing and plug wires)

scan utubes there are good ones on rebuilding the ignition which is not that complicated. timing with a vom is also easy see video and you won't need the fancy pointer device
(821) OMC outboard ignition system rebuild - YouTube

may has well get some new .22uf condensers

I do not have a manual yet and I'm in no hurry to get this going but a couple questions.

#1... does this run on straight fuel or does it need to be mixed.
#2... which gear oil?

It is a 2 stroke engine.----You mix gas and oil at 50:1 in your fuel tank.----I suggest you read a manual for that fishing motor / talk to some fishing buddies before launching your boat.----Could save you a lot of beer tokens.

I've already had the boat put on the lake(another post). I do not have the motor on the boat. This year the rebuild of boat and next year the motor. The lakes I fish are small enough many guys just bring trolling motored boats in p stead of large bass boats.

I didnt need the manual in the beginning bUT if I decide to use it I will.

Start a topic about your 73 Evinrude, asking here is considered a hijack and discouraged
