I'm torn between putting this depth finder on the bow of my boat, it does still work. I took it up to the pond out back and tested it out by moving the transducer to different depths, it still works but the screen is a little clouded. I thought about trying to sell it and putting the money towards a newer one. I don't really want anything fancy. I have a hummingbird 100sx on the driver's console.

How well did these old depth finders work for the 80's?

How much would this old depth finder be worth?

the lcr 2000 still works great. I have an old LCR 4x6 that I use on the Bow and have a navman 4350 on the dash. Just make sure you use one or the other because i believe they both share the 200khz frequency to sound with. The technology has improved quite a bit since the 80's, crisper images, more detail, color, speed, etc. But with the LCR 4x6 when fish show up, I'm usually catching them unless they have lockjaw. The Lcr 2000 will be fine.

Well you talked me into installing it. I think I might just put it on the bow for the time being until I get the money up to buy a newer one. Problem is I might be modifying an old flasher depth finder bracket to hold the lcr.

Thanks

What I've used before are 2 of those stanley 4" L brackets you can get at Home depot or lowes, there tall enough and the holes line up, just use a rubber gasket to keep the finder from slipping down from the boat vibration.

Something to consider, thanks for the idea.

I don't have my wire welder anymore so I can't do any light welding to this bracket that I already have to make it wider.
