Hello to All,

I have a 1969 Merc 1000 (100hp), The wires on my ss ignition trigger are in bad shape. I have doctored them up with heat shrink and it runs great. I'm trying to locate some resources for parts. Do any of you know where all the old parts are at? Maybe there are new parts that can be retrofitted? Also the name plate on my boat was worn off. Where can I get the info. Like max motor size. Thank You in advance

Re: Old Mercury Parts

Hey Para,
I've got a '73 Merc and I'm finding it difficult to get parts myself. If you haven't already tried, call some of the independent/smaller boat motor repair shops. I found they seem to have the parts I need or know where I can get them. I was able to find a guy nearby who can order my internal wiring harness thru a company who rebuilds them. It's only going to cost $115 instead of the $145-160 for a new one. As for your boat, you may need to contact the company directly (if you know who built it) and see if you can get the info from them
