Re: Old motor

I got burned with one of those use and return deals once. We had a project going and needed a special tool, so we bought a supposed new one at Home Depot. When we got into the project and needed the tool, it was found to have parts missing and showed severe usage. Thankfully HD returned my money when I returned it and showed them what they had furnished, but lets just say I had some bad thoughts for the idiot who used and returned it for credit. As the tool was not usable, we spent hours doing the work without the proper tool.

If you cannot afford the tool, just pay someone to check it out for you like an honorable person would.

I just sold a 1972 Johnson 6hp for $300. The years that I had that motor I had no problems what so ever. I did nothing to prepare it for storage like I do now. No fogging, draining of gas,gas stabilizer nothing and that motor would start first time every time. You can still get parts, service manuals and owners manuals for those older motors, check out *****************. If that 76 works as good as my 72 I would say $500 is not to much for it.

Looks like the won't let me post a name or a link but you can find places for parts.
