I did just this same thing on a smaller scale. I went to the private seller, (or dealer) took all of my measurments along with some pictures. Compared that to my trailer and adjusted the bunks by length and width. Moved the front moring point forward and moved the rear hold down eyelets out and back as req. per my measurments. I then made an a frame and sling and took the trailer and swapped the boat onto it. With the pics and the measurements i was only off by a tenth of an inch. Worked great and saved me a ton of money.
