Old trailer question

From what I understand my boat trailer is a Magnolia Moody and pretty old. The wheel bearing hubs are actually made into or part of the rims. I've done a bit of looking and do not find anything like them out on the market. I called a marina here in town and was told they no longer make them. My question is, am I SOL on finding those and if so what do I need to do to swap over to something that is readily available? Thanks for your time and patience.

Thanks Smoke. I did a search first to look for a previous inquiry but didn't find anything so I posted. I know some forums get irate if folks keep posting the same thing without looking.

Gator, if you cant find the parts, have you considered installed new axle and hubs? what size boat are you hauling?

Smoke, I think I do remember that thread as well, but can't remember the poster's name or handle.

However, If the axle assembly has a standard spindle exposed, you could simply buy two new hubs with the bearings and seals and buy some tires/rims and be light-years ahead of the game for next time around servicing them or finding replacement parted again. Not knowing the tire sizes, the hubs with inter and outer bearings, races, seals with lug nuts would run less then $50 dollars a pair shipped. Hope this helped a little...

Re: Old trailer question

Man i sure do appreciate all the input. Sorry i did not elaborate on specifics. I just have a small 14X36 jon boat on this trailor so pretty light. I feel at this point I'm going to either do as suggested with finding hubs to fit the spindles and wheels/tires for hubs OR just buy new axle w/hub and upgrade. I don't have a spare tire with my current setup so i do not want to get caught out somewhere without one plus tires are in poor shape. Again thank you all for the help.

Re: Old trailer question

The referenced thread ended up replacing the entire setup with a new axle and suspension. It might be cheaper to watch CL for a replacement trailer.

BTW - Welcome to iboats,
