Ive tried everything and fixed everthing!<br />still the same problem!!!!going to get the carbs<br />rebuilt!! 2.7 litre sea drive 6 carbs<br />how much should I expect to pay!!!!$$$$$

Bogii Are you planning on asking the shop to rebuild the carbs?Or are you going to ask them to fix your restart problem?<br /> When I worked in a car shop,people would come in and ask for a front end alignment.They would come back saying the front end still shakes.I would write the next repair order.. fix front end shake... <br />DHP

I'll tell you, from my experience with carbs, if you run the system cold-through-hot without problem, the carbs themselves are usually not to blame. Getting good service for TEN miles says you have no problem with carburation.<br /><br />Check for fuel starvation problems.. Remember, cooling liquids contract. Fuel under the cowling will be warmed by the engine; then cooled as you drift. You'll then get a partial vacuum, and the soda straw we know as "fuel line" will be devoid of fuel.<br /><br />..Add a marginal/flaky priming bulb, and you may have a problem. <br /><br />Question for you: If you restart that engine without allowing the engine to cool, no problems?<br /><br />Call me nuts, but for the cost of a new priming bulb, you'll eliminate it as a "suspect." Hellova lot cheaper than a carb rebuild. <br /><br />Besides, I read somewhere that you're supposed to change that bulb every couple of years anyway..<br /><br />Ken

Im at my wits and finacial end!!!$$$$ whats do you mean dhpmarine!!! restart problem????<br /><br />Interesting find! when motor bogged down if I pushed in the key the motor would take right off!<br />so I got a fuel delivery problem!!!?????<br />what couuld cause this??????????????????<br />what do I check next! Help.<br /><br />have done new fuel lines & filter runs great on<br />muffs dino's great! when the boat in the water with back presure it has a hard time holding<br />idle and gets going if I push the choke key in bypassing the carbs the sucker takes off!!!<br />all I feel is left is the carbs and thats 600$<br />to rebuild?? can it be any thing else??<br />dhadley seahorse were are you!!!!<br /><br /> thanks Bogart.
