OMC 3.0 misfiring when hot/after being under a load

Take off the Distributor cap, grab the rotor, and it should move 1/4 of a turn one way, or the other, then spring back? If not, take off the points breaker plate, and clean, & lube your mechanical advance weights, & springs.

Guys, this thread is over 9 months old... If there was a solution, I think the OP would have been back to us... Please read the forum rules and not post to old threads. Original OP was the one that restarted it.

It sure would help to find out what he tried though.

I am still trying to find a solution to this. I have tried everything above. My next attempt may be to replace the ignition system with an electronic ignition.
