HELLO , THE PROUBLEM I AM HAVING IS WHEN I HAVE BEEN RUNNING AT ABOUT 3500 TO 4000 RPMS FOR LETS SAY 15 20 MINETTE S, AND THEN I THROTTLE DOWN THE MOTOR IDLES AT 1100 AND I CANT KNOCK IT DOWN UNLESS I OPEN THE COVER AND PUSH ON THE CARB LINCKAINGE. tHE CARB HAS BEEN REBUILT .AND NORMAL IDLE IS ABOUT 550 600 RPMS MOST OTHER TIMES .i HAVE THE SOLIC BOOK ,BUT HOW WOULD I ADJUST THE THROTTLE CABLEOR, SHOULD I REPLAC IT .THANKS

One thing you can do,which I put on my OMC Cobra is a throttle return spring.You can buy a bracket sold at a lot of speed shops or some auto parts places that goes under the front nut on carb mount,then put a spring on it to the throttle return.I made my on bracket.It pulls the throttle back to idle everytime.They even sell the springs just for this.Mine is on a holley 4 bbl.

with a spring youll need constant pressure on the throttle arm to hold it at rpms. like don said adjust the cable.
