omc esa module

my sons 86 2.3 ford with a omc cobra is acting up again.it loses 2+4 cylinders.no spark comes out the wires on those two when it runs bad.i disconnected the esa module at all connections and that didnt help.is the module required to be in the system and functioning to run properly.i noticed that the micro switch is sticking,thats y i unhooked it.its a point system.

the distributor goes round and round and distributes the spark in a circle - nothing can cut spark to two cylinders.
Except:
bad distributor cap/rotor,
bad wires,
bad spark plugs

all basic tune up stuff

thanks,it was the rubbing block worn on the points.i was looking for something that killed 2 cylinders.
