OMC locked up lower unit

Hey guys i have a 1986 Seaswirl with a 4.3 litre and an omc outdrive, stinger 400 or 800 not sure of which on. last summer i had outdrive problems , after taking the lower unit off it seems that the lower unit is locked up. has anybody rebuilt one of these? what tools are needed to take it apart to find the damage? any help is appreciated
