Re: OMC or AFTERMARKET REEDS???

I plan to rebuild my carbs in my '94 Johnson 115 hp. Would this be a good time to replace the reeds? If so, is it much harder than just rr the carbs? I'm a real dummy. I'm also intimidated by the link/sinq. process I'll have to do after rr the carbs. I've read the section on rebuilding carbs in the manyal about 6 times now and I feel pretty confident about that. Like I said, I'm a real dummy when it comes to this stuff.

Mirko

What Kenny and the other guys said. :D

I have seen some rpm pickup on a couple engines I installed them in, mainly smaller engines, 9.9/15 and a 60 I did picked up 300 solid rpms. So you may or may not pick up rpms. But the performance factor is enough to warrant them IMHO.

Gas milage....I think it's there but you would have to be counting pints or quarts instead of gallons.

Let me add one more thing about jetting, I had just re-done my 90hp when I installed the reeds. Went oversize .030 on bores. If I would have stayed at std. piston sizes and not re-done the whole engine, chances are I may have not needed to change out the jetting.
