I?m hoping Someone can help me clarify a few things regarding the wiring of my 307 chevy / OMC setup. I tried to turn off my lancer one day and it kept running. After getting it home and inspecting the harness this is what I found.
Quite a mess. I knew here had been some modification but not to the extent that I now see.
Here are my major questions.

Quite a mess. I knew here had been some modification but not to the extent that I now see.
Here are my major questions.
- How do I reconfigure my wiring to accommodate a one wire alternator? Where should purple #2 go? (See marked up wiring diagram)
- My setup currently doesn?t have a ?starter solenoid? that is off of the starter. (See marked up wiring diagram) Can I just take those 3 wires straight to the main solenoid? Or should I get one? If so where is it mounted?
- I currently don?t have a ballast resister. Should I get one? Where should it be mounted? If isn?t not required should purple #1 go straight to the coil?
- I do not have a temp gauge on my instrument panel. Just a warning light. I?m planning on adding one in the future but what should I do wires for the time being?
- The wire gauges in my harness don?t match the gauges show on the diagram. The ones shown as 10ga are 8ga. The ones identified as 16ga are 18ga. I have already purchased the wire I needed. Will it be an issue if I transition sizes?
