i always thought you just run some carbon steel screws, or some drywall screws, through the bottom of the hull, up into the stringers??? i guess i could go back to just shooting staples through the hull and into the stringers.....that should work

At least they tabbed to the hull.

You'd be surprised at the amount of "drop-in" decks we see here that aren't even tabbed or glassed.

That's just not an urban legend...

I knew a guy who screwed right through the hull with some long drywall screws, he was kind of perplexed as to why it wouldn't come off the trailer, the boat was screwed onto trailer bunks  It was an easy fix though, remove the screws penetrating into the bunks and just bust the others off with a hammer

LOL
I realize not every body is an expert..Im learning every day myself but there is ABILITY and COMMON SENSE, or at least should be a little of each. I don't mind doing a job right, researching what i don't know and taking on jobs within my ability level. NOTHING is worse than inheriting a job that someone else did or started that you have to not only do fully, but have to UN-DO what someone else did wrong!

Heh... I looked at a boat last spring that had the original floor plus 3 layers of 1/2" ply laid down. Floor and 2 layers of ply were completely rotted, top layer was well on its way.
