Assuming the series wiring is in place while attempting to charge, I think the charger will diagnose reversed polarity when wired to either of the two trolling motor batteries -- guessing it won't go to a charge cycle. Think you will end up removing the series wiring between batteries before you can charge either of them.

In keeping with the Coach Wooden quote Bruce shows, I would read the charger manual and check the FAQs or helpline if any doubt. (And....post back on what works. Thanks -- curious.)

Here is another link from another charger manual. Look at the note to the right.

Interesting -- thanks. My charger is on the boat (along with the instruction manual). Wondering if mine has that configuration option.

Well hell, if all else fails, just look in the instruction manual (just got the charger today).....

Quote from the Minn-kota manual::

Each output bank is independent and isolated from one another and the AC input. The Minn Kota charger can charge independent batteries or combinations of batteries hooked in series or parallel without disconnecting the batteries from any switches or wires / straps joining the batteries.

Can't get much clearer than that! (Points to Bruce and to manuals...)
