Thanks Pat. A good note on which to end this discussion.

JB, it's kinda like why mom wouldn't let anyone
discuss religion or politics at the dinner table.
she yelled at us constantly about it... of course
she was 100% Italian, so she yelled all the time
anyways :D

wvit100,

kenny I wasn't putting any words in your mouth only pointing out that everyone knows what god is being referred to when we put the words "under God" in the pledge
Yeah, God, the superior being.

Not God, the Christian!

Not God, the Buddist!

Not God, the Hindu, etc...!

It was meant, God, the Superior Being, or whatever your religion calls it!

exclusion of certain races or religions only breeds contempt and mistrust
Who's making an exclusion here?

Like I said before...

THE ENGLISH EQUIVILENT FOR ALLAH = GOD!

THE ENGLISH EQUIVILENT FOR MOHAMMED = GOD!

THE ENGLISH EQUIVILENT FOR BUDA = GOD!

THE ENGLISH EQUIVILENT FOR JAHOVA = GOD!

It seems that the only ones making exclusions, are those who wish to have "In God We Trust" and "Under God" removed at any cost, just to again, undermine the government, because they feel it is their given right to undermine the government!

Put this topic on the general election in the 2004 elections, and I will bet almost any amount of money, that the majority of Americans will vote TO KEEP "UNDER GOD" AND "IN GOD WE TRUST", forever!
