Oops! aciddentaly removed shift linkage anchor pin...

1988 force 125. A friend and i we going to change the oil in the lower unit and swap the impeller and accidentally removed the anchor pin and now im lost as how to fix it. My clymers manual doesnt seem to explain it, so hopefully someone here can help. How the hell do i get this thing back together? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Did you move or shift the linkage while it was out??
If not then you might get lucky and just put it back in.
If not then you need to take it apart and install it that way

yeah we tried to get it back in, but to no avail. looks like i have to take it all apart then?

Filled out the profile info, im in san diego ca. i had my buddy bring the lower end unit to a nearby mechanic, hopefully he can take care of it. will update later today... thanks Jerry
