Re: Opinions please, Is this boat under powered?
KCook-
No problem- didn't mean to come across in a bad way either. Just hate to see the negative Bayliner references all the time when I don't think they still apply. Granted, the boats WERE junky boats back in the 80's- like many of the domestic cars of the decade. ( Did anybody EVER really like a Dodge K car? LOL)

I like it when people talk bad about my boat. Then they go for a ride with me and they get that look on their face- " wow, this is a nice boat!". Never fails to give me a kick.

RATFISH- Here is your resounding YES. I have had my family ( me, my wife, two kids and my parents) in my boat and don't have any problems at all. Take into account that I am 6'4" tall and weigh in around 250 and my Dad is about the same. The two of us are half the allowed load! LOL I do use the lower pitch prop when I load the boat that way as it does struggle a bit to pop up on plane with the higher pitched prop, as would be expected. I still manage 45 out of the lower pitched prop, juts gotta watch the RPM so I don't over rev. Both of those props are 3 bladed SS props. I recently acquired a 25 pitch High 5 prop that has an AWESOME holeshot and excellent speed for me- just haven't had a big load in the boat yet to see how it does. I was surprised to see that the WOT was right in line with the 23 pitch 3 bladed prop. The blades on the High 5 are smaller though.

Granted, the 5.7 would be a nicety- plenty more power to get you up and going but the 5.0 will work well nonetheless. If the boat is nice and the price is right, I wouldn't have any second thoughts about it.

UFM82
